Guided Writing

Guided Writing 馃挮

First of all, I would like to ask you what guided writing is. Remember that anything you think is only your point of view.

Guided reading is a technique that teachers use to improve the writing skills of their students. This kind of technique works with any level of English and age.

Doing writing activities help students to feel confidence by themselves when they are writing. At the same time helps teachers follow the process.

In this kind of activity, the teacher provides a kind of structure through prompts, examples, or some instructions to help organize ideas.

How to practice guided writing?

The best way to start guided writing is to give our students a little introduction about what we are going to write today.

You can start the class by talking about the topic, playing a game, or playing a video in that way as a teacher you know if your students have knowledge about the topic or where your students are.

After that, you can provide a worksheet with some questions, and sentences that students can scramble, complete gaps, etc. You can do that, together with all your group because we can encourage the support between students.

Finally, when we finish practicing with our worksheet, we can say that our students are ready to write their own writing. The students can be guided by the examples you provided them previously.

Remember that it is very important that you give them positive feedback and cheer them up to share their writing with their classmates.
